“Big Time Rush” star Logan Henderson was in a nasty motorcycle wreck last week … and might’ve James Dean-ed himself into the history books … if not for a lucky jacket he was wearing … TMZ has learned.
According to sources, the Nickelodeon boy bander was cruising through the Hollywood and Vine intersection on his way to the studio … when a car turned right in front of him.
Henderson swerved at the last second to avoid an accident … and was violently chucked off his bike in the process.
Remarkably, he was able to stand afterwards … scraped and bruised from frisbeeing across the blacktop … but still alive, we’re told, thanks in part to his Marc Jacobs jacket … which he claims saved his back from becoming a mangled mess.
The accident understandably put the kibosh on his trip to the studio … but Henderson’s gonna be just fine.
His bike, on the other hand? Not so much — it’s in the shop for the foreseeable future.
Yikes! talk about scary! But no worries! Logan tweeted he is perfectly fine!
On Nickelodeon’s Big Time Rush television show, James Maslow stars as James Diamond – no relation to Baby Hope Diamond! He barks about his new puppy love, a one-year old Alaskan Klee Kai dog named Fox. The adorable pup was originally named for his foxy looks and cool-sounding name but James later realized it was doggy-destiny! “I named my older dog Falco, who passed away last year, after the video game, ‘Star Fox’ and Fox is one of the characters!”
James dishes below about life with his new four-legged buddy and musical muse. “Fox likes being in the studio when I’m writing. “When I can’t think of something I’ll go play with him and take a break,” James chirps. “When we have the music on loop and he’ll just pass out on the couch!”
James jokes that Fox may end up singing like him, since he’s already in the studio all day!
WD: How did you find this furtastic breed!?
JM: I searched for a smaller dog because traveling and touring with a big dog might be difficult. I wanted a smaller dog that was intelligent and cool but looked like a big dog. Fox is exactly that. He looks like a miniature husky.
WD: Are you in puppy love with your little dog?
JM: Before I had a 100-lb Yellow lab and a dachshund as my family dog. I never thought I’d like having a little dog but I love Fox! I walk him down the street and it looks ridiculous in a sense but I love that. I have no ego with my dog.
WD: What is it like hitting the road with Fox?
JM: It’s great! He sleeps with me in the bunk. I have a buddy all the time and when it’s cold I have a little fluffy thing to keep me warm! And the fans love him. Everyday he goes out and the fans scream for Fox, I think more than me! It’s amazing! It makes me feel like a proud dad!
WD: What’s the craziest thing he’s done on the road?
JM: When Cody Simpson opened for our band, he brought his family and their dog Buddy. Fox and Buddy played along well but one night they were both off their leashes. The fans were screaming and Fox and Buddy started running around. Fox is usually pretty good but he would not listen to me at all. In order to appear cool I had to let him play for a good 45 minutes and then chase him down! He wouldn’t listen, he was being such a butt-head, but he had fun and the fans enjoyed it.
WD: How does he get along with other dogs?
JM: He loves other dogs! He actually believes he’s bigger than every other dog. (He’s 8 lbs. so that’s pretty inaccurate, but he loves it!) No matter how big or scary the other dog is, he’ll go up and nip at him and play. They could bite him in half and he doesn’t care.
WD: How does he handle all the music?
JM: He doesn’t mind music. Fox has been in recording studios since he was two months old. In fact, you can blast music and he’ll fall asleep right through it! It’s amazing. He’s been in cars, tour buses and planes and has probably traveled more than some people ever will! He’s a very spoiled dog in that sense but he’s comfortable with it. He’ll even fall asleep for a 5-hour flight!
WD: If Fox were a famous celebrity, which tail-wagging actor would he be?
JM: Fox is a star. He’s on the smaller side but he’s the Tom Cruise of dogs. He could be in Top Gun!

How many 22-year-olds do you know who can claim to be the proud uncle of a pet pig and the proud owner of two BMWs?
Well, there’s Big Time Rush lead singer Kendall Schmidt, who’s been spotted in Los Angeles walking brother Kevin‘s pig. Yuma. Though these days, Kendall is driving around windows down in his shiny new BMW.
The “Windows Down” singer purchased a glacier silver metallic 2013 BMW Hybrid 3 on Tuesday. The sports car costs over $64,000, and as a testament to the boy band’s commercial success, this is Schmidt’s second BMW.
A source close to Schmidt told Celebuzz the singer chose the BMW Hybrid because it was eco-friendly. Schmidt also eyed the Fisker Karma — Justin Bieber’s speedy ride of choice — but his father Kent Schmidt was on hand to convince his son the BMW was the safer choice. Schmidt also took the time to pose with his young fans before speeding off in his new ride.
“Big Time Rush” lead singer Kendall Schmidt is so popular with the ladies … he plunked down some major dough and moved all the way to Sin City to escape some love-crazed female fans … TMZ has learned.
Sources close to Kendall tell TMZ … several members of Kendall’s team became concerned after some overzealous fans began camping outside of the 22-year-old’s L.A. pad … and they urged him to get another place where he could hide out.
We’re told Kendall took the note and quickly found a place in Las Vegas — inside a well-protected gated community.
Here are the stats — 1,900 square feet, 3 beds, 3 baths … and it cost somewhere between $300k and $400k.
We’re told Kendall still owns his place in L.A. — and will use the home when he comes to town — but the Vegas pad will be his primary residence.

Kendall’s mom has confirmed on twitter that he’s not moving because of the fans, he’s moving with his brother, Kevin! Congratulations to them! :)
High School Musical alum Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale are getting back into the animation business.
The actresses join Big Time Rush members Kendall Schmidt, Logan Henderson and Pretty Little Liars’ Ashley Benson in a teen-friendly cast for The Great Migration, an animated film from the newly-formed CMI Entertainment, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Additionally, the group will lend their voices to an original soundtrack to accompany the film.
Writer Kevin G. Schmidt (Cheaper By the Dozen I, II) will also star.
“The idea for The Great Migration arrived in my email inbox via a weekly newsletter from an alternative physician I follow in Chicago,” Schmidt says. “The film centers on a group of characters that encounter a mutated predator threatening to destroy the balance of their environment.”
Tisdale has long lent her voice to animation as a series regular on Disney Channel’s Phineas and Ferb, while Hudgens previously voiced a character on Seth Green’s adult cartoon series Robot Chicken. This will be the first animated project for Kendall Schmidt and Henderson.
The project will mark CMI Entertainment’s first attempt at producing a film using pre-visualization, which aims to create high quality animation below current market prices.
“What we hope to accomplish with The Great Migration is the most efficient animated storytelling without sacrificing artistic vision or quality,” says CMI’s Michael Cammarata, who cites Timur Bekmambetov as his mentor and inspiration for the project. “If the right partners are economically and creatively on the same page, I believe projects can be brought from conception to reality quicker than ever before.”
The film is expected to begin production Nov. 1. Cammarata, Kevin G. Schmidt and Rob Minkoff are producing.
This week the biggest coincidence ever in the history of life occurred – four members of four different boy bands celebrated or will celebrate their birthdays. Fine, technically this happens every year, but OMG, still not over it. The Wanted’s Max George turned 24 on September 6, One Direction’s Niall Horan turns 19 TODAY (Happy bday, Nialler!), Big Time Rush’s Logan Henderson turns 23 on September 14 and the Jonas Brothers’ Nick Jonasturns 20 on September 16. Got all that? AKA mark your calenders because September is officially the bestest month ever.
Instead of writing each of the boy banders a poem (been there, done for Nick J, by the way), we thought it’d be way more fun to pit them against each other by having you tell us which birthday party you’d most want to go to for our celeb battle. So The Wanted Family, Directioners, Rushers and Jonatics, get your voting fingers ready and vote for your guy below — then maybe the winner will see this and actually invite you to his party! Dream big.
But for reals though, check out hot pics of each of the four boy bands below (in case you need to put the guys in context, which is unlikely because hello this is Teen.com), then get crackin’ on the poll and get chatting in the comments. And don’t forget to leave your bday wishes for the guys down there, too!
Big Time Rush want to slow things down a bit.
The Nickelodeon stars-turned-real life pop sensations plan to take their time with their upcoming third album, says member Carlos Pena Jr. — and yes, he gets the irony.
“I’ve been in a rush for five years,” he cracks from a hotel in Philadelphia. “Normally, we tour, rush through an album, put it out and then go shoot episodes of the show. This year, we’re going to take a little bit of time to write, find the right songs, pair them with great episodes and great storylines and then put the album out. We’re not going to rush through it. Finally.”
Of course, that’s all down the road. Right now, the 23-year-old singer and his bandmates — Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow and Logan Henderson, also his co-stars on their Monkees-inspired series — are literally bouncing their way across North America on their Elevate tour, which hits Canada this month.
During a half-day off, an “exhausted” Pena chatted about the ups and downs of his gig, life after the big time, and the other Rush.
What do you do with a half-day off?
If we’re in a cool city, I’ll try and do something. But today, we got in at 7:30 a.m., so I got off the bus, came to the hotel, watched Men in Black for a bit and passed out. Our schedule is crazy just because of the time frame we have. Most people do 70 shows in four months. We have three or less. It’s just back to back. And we’re running around out there. Plus we’re doing all these outdoor amphitheatres. We sweat so much, it’s crazy. So it does get tiring. But at the same time, I always remember I’m not sitting at a desk for a living; I’m singing for fans. It’s a cool job.
I hear you have a trampoline onstage. That sounds dangerous. Has anyone fallen on their butt yet?
Yeah, we have a trampoline right in the middle of our set. It helps us get from one level to another. It’s nothing too crazy. But they did put a new mat on about 10 or 12 shows in, and it was way bouncier than the last one. When we jumped onto it, we just flew. I hurt myself the second show doing a backflip. My foot went through the spring and I landed on my butt. My shin started bleeding — and it was only the second song. I was just thinking, ‘Stay calm, only 16 more songs to go. ’
How do Canadian fans compare to other countries in terms of screaming?
You know what? The international fans definitely are louder. We just did a show in Puerto Rico, where we’d never been before, and you could tell. So I’m looking forward to doing a nice long stretch of shows in Canada. Then we’ll really see the difference.
Could the band exist without the TV show?
I think the music could stand alone, but I don’t know if it would be as powerful. The show has definitely been our main audience. We have four million kids watching. So when you put a song out, four million kids hear it. When you put a song on the radio, you’re not going to have four million people listening. It’s a blessing and a curse being on Nickelodeon — it’s gotten us where we are now, though some people are standoffish to us because of that. But we have to be grateful that Nickelodeon gave us this opportunity. Abandoning the show would not be the best idea.
No, but at some point the show has to end. Will the band carry on after that?
That, I think, is the end goal. This probably is going to be our last season. We have done almost 100 episodes, which is great. But yeah, the goal is for the music to carry on — and for us to do other ventures.
I get the sense you started off wanting to be an actor more than a pop star.
Well, I was studying musical theatre, so being onstage and performing was always my thing. And I love TV and film, but I really want to do Broadway. So when I got this opportunity, it was kind of what I wanted to do. Not exactly, but it’s going to help me get where I want to be. But right now, the most important thing is making Big Time Rush be as big as Big Time Rush can be. From there, I’ll move on to something else. I’m setting myself up now for the rest of my life. This is not going to be the last thing I do.
What do you know about the Canadian band Rush?
I’ve heard of them. I don’t know them that well, and don’t listen to their music. But right at the beginning of our band, I overheard some guy talking about Rush in L.A. I was like, ‘Oh my God. This guy is talking about our band, but he doesn’t know it’s Big Time Rush.’ Then he started naming songs and I was like, ‘That’s a whole different band.’ That’s how I got to know about Rush.

James Maslow is the multi-talented break out star of the widely buzzed about musical group Big Time Rush. The band also stars on the hit Nickelodeon television show of the same name. Currently, Big Time Rush is in the middle of their second US headlining tour, which began on July 5, 2012, and will conclude on December 14, 2012, at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Maslow, a La Jolla, California native, joined the San Diego Children’s Choir at an early age, igniting an undying passion for singing and performing. Determined to be an entertainer, the singer enrolled in the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts and then the prestigious Coronado School of the Arts. While a student, Maslow endured long commutes and setbacks, none of which deterred his passion. Throughout his youth, Maslow stayed committed to improving his incredible abilities.
“Yeah. Absolutely. To be fair, I never thought I’d be in a boy band. However, I’ve embraced it now. We’re having the time of our lives. I’ve learned to become pretty much brothers to these guys. They’re awesome guys. We’ve really had a very unique experience.”
The band’s soundtrack to Big Time Movie features covers of Beatles tunes including “Help,” “Revolution,” and “A Hard Day’s Night.” Big Time Rush released their second studio album, Elevate, in November 2011. The group is currently writing and recording new songs for their third album. “Windows Down,” the new single, was released June 25, 2012. As of May 2012, Big Time Rush has sold around 4.1 million singles around the world.
Melissa Parker (Smashing Interviews Magazine): Hi James, what is new this season on the TV series?
James Maslow: You know, it’s interesting. We spent pretty much a year on the road, and then came back to filming, so we were all unsure if we’d be the same, if we looked older or would act differently, but really everyone went right back into the same groove of things. Rachel Crow guest stars, and we had Fabio back because he has been a fun recurring character.
Our first episode was a very unique one because we paired a live concert that we did in Nashville (although we called it Canada in the episode) and paired live footage with an actual scripted show. We’re not doing that every episode, but I thought it was pretty unique because we really never crossed that border into real life – Big Time Rush with the characters in Big Time Rush the show. It’s kind of an interesting way to blend reality with fiction.

When Big Time Rush’s Kendall Schmidt headed to a tattoo parlor last weekend, he knew exactly what he wanted and why he wanted it.
The boy bander got inked with a sugar skull tattoo, and MTV News has not only the exclusive photos, but also an exclusive breakdown of why Kendall got that particular image inked on his upper arm. According to Kendall, it represents Mexico’s annual All Soul’s Day, which falls on November 2. Coincidentally, that also happens to be his birthday.
The personal and original design, which Kendall handpicked himself, also includes wheat and sunflowers to represent his Kansas upbringing. Additionally, the tat has the number 111 inscribed in it. Why, you might be wondering? Well, that’s his lucky number. The tattoo also includes a guitar and guitar pick as an homage to his love for music.
Kendall is currently on the road with Big Time Rush, so fans can catch a glimpse of the new tat for themselves. In addition to the tour, the guys also recently released their single, “Windows Down.”
Check out Kendall’s new ink below!
OMG! Big Time Rush — Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Logan Henderson and Carlos Pena Jr. — kicked off its Big Time Summer Tour this month in Columbus. (But you knew that.) Now the stars of the Nickelodeon series “Big Time Rush” are headed to Northeast Ohio for a concert Wednesday night at Blossom Music Center, hot on the heels of their latest hit, “Windows Down.” (But you knew that, too.) Carlos, 22, gave us a call recently before a show in Texas. (Keep reading, BTR fans — you might learn something you didn’t know.)
What’s your favorite color?
My favorite color is purple.
You know what? I don’t know. I think it’s because one day I was really into this chick, and she goes, “You look really good in purple.” I’m thinking, “Really?” And from that day on, it was purple.
What’s your least favorite color?
I can really do without . . . like . . . uh . . . what’s that color? I like green. I like blue. You know, red’s cool. I’m not like — fine. Red’s my least favorite.
What do you have against red?
Sometimes it just seems so angry to me and so loud. I’m more of a chill kind of guy.
What’s your favorite food?
Potatoes. Anything with potatoes, I’m in.
Have you ever eaten purple mashed potatoes?
Nooooo. But that may be something — I mean, is it a real thing?
There are purple potatoes, so it’s a possibility.
Well, I’ll let you know.
According to a recent article in Psychology Today, if your favorite color is purple, you’re artistic and unique. It also signifies that you can be arrogant. Does this ring true?
Wow. I don’t know about the arrogant part. I’m definitely confident. I think people commonly mistake confidence for arrogance, if that makes sense. I’m definitely confident about what I want. I’m 22, and I’ve been forced to grow up very quickly. It’s been a nice challenge to find myself in all of this. I think the only way to keep a sane mindset is to have a bit of confidence, you know?
How about Kendall, James and Logan — do you know what their favorite colors are?
Yeah. I think Kendall and James are green. I want to say Logan is blue. I don’t know. Logan changes his mind a lot. He kind of just goes with what’s hot at the time.
Do you have a girlfriend?
No. I’m actually recently single.
If you had a girlfriend, what should her favorite color be?
Oh. Well, I can’t just pick. But someone with a purple love would be awesome.
What’s your favorite purple material possession?
I bought a house about a year ago, and I’ve been decorating it room by room. I wanted to make a purple room. I have this really cool billiards room. I made all the walls deep purple, and the ceiling is cream, like a sculptor’s clay. Then it has white molding. I just love that room. It’s so cozy. So fun. And it’s purple.
Who’s your favorite entertainer of all time?
Stevie Wonder is awesome. I love watching him perform. I would love to see him live. I saw Usher last year. He didn’t sing a lot live, which was kind of disappointing. But he’s a great performer, just the way he carries himself onstage and his confidence. He was a lot of fun to watch.
When it comes to Stevie Wonder and Usher, do you have any idea what their favorite colors are?
If I had to guess, I would say Usher would probably be purple, just because he’s a big influence on [Justin] Bieber, and Bieber’s favorite color is purple, I think. Stevie Wonder may like purple, too. I know Snoop [Dogg] likes purple. But he also likes green.
You must get the “What’s your favorite color?” question a lot. Do you mind talking about it?
No. I’ve never actually gone in-depth like you did. But it’s actually kind of interesting. I may be interested in looking more into it.
So this is the definitive Carlos/purple interview?
This is THE purple interview. This is all about purple.
